Running a practice in Maryland means juggling Medicare, Maryland Medicaid managed care plans and commercial payers, and each one has its own rules, portals and denial patterns. Medical Claim Management LLC handles your billing remotely, so you and your staff can focus on patients and get paid faster. We’re registered in Owings Mills, MD, and we work with practices across the state, from Baltimore to Frederick.
Whether you’re a solo provider, a growing group, or a specialty clinic, we’re a medical billing company that works as an extension of your front office. We work in your systems, follow your workflows, and report to you clearly.
Our Medical Billing Services for Maryland Practices
- Claims Submission & Medical Billing: We scrub claims for coding and demographic errors before submission, so more claims are paid on the first pass.
- Denial Management: We find out why each claim was denied, correct and resubmit it, file appeals when needed, and fix the root cause so the same denial doesn’t come back.
- Accounts Receivable (A/R) Follow-Up: We work aging claims by payer and by age, and chase unpaid and underpaid balances until they’re resolved.
- Credentialing & Payer Contracting: We handle enrollment and re-credentialing with Medicare, Maryland Medicaid MCOs and commercial plans, so new providers can start billing without delays.
- Eligibility & Benefits Verification: We check coverage before the visit to prevent eligibility denials and surprise patient balances.
- Prior Authorization: We request and track authorizations so services aren’t denied for missing approvals.
- Virtual Admin Support: Remote help with patient billing, payer calls and virtual medical scribe services, plus full revenue cycle management.
We Know Maryland Payers
Maryland billing has its own landscape, and we work with the payers your patients carry:
- Medicare (Novitas Solutions, Jurisdiction L): Novitas Solutions is the Medicare Administrative Contractor that processes Part A and Part B claims for Maryland.
- Maryland Medicaid HealthChoice MCOs: Maryland Medicaid’s HealthChoice program runs through nine managed care organizations: Aetna Better Health of Maryland, CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield Community Health Plan Maryland, Jai Medical Systems, Kaiser Permanente, Maryland Physicians Care, MedStar Family Choice, Priority Partners, UnitedHealthcare Community Plan and Wellpoint Maryland. Each has its own rules for authorizations and claims.
- CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield and other commercial plans: We also bill CareFirst, Aetna, UnitedHealthcare, Cigna and other commercial payers.
Maryland’s prompt-pay law works in your favor. Under Maryland Insurance Article § 15-1005, state-regulated carriers, including Medicaid MCOs, must pay a clean claim within 30 days of receiving it. If they don’t pay, they must send a notice explaining why. Late payments owe interest: 1.5% a month from day 31 to day 60, 2% from day 61 to day 120, and 2.5% after day 120. The law doesn’t cover Medicare, Medicare Advantage, FEHB or self-funded employer plans. We track claim aging against these deadlines and follow up when payers miss them.
